Knowledge

What Meetings, People, Documents, Projects, and Known Terms each hold, and how they link to one another.

Each of these has its own window in the menu. Each shows one engagement at a time.

Meetings

Knowledge lists the meetings Merriweather remembered, newest first, under REMEMBERED. Calendar meetings in the next two weeks that it has not listened to appear under SCHEDULED, with what the invitation says.

Search covers titles, summaries, and people. Narrow by project, and sort by Date, Recent activity, or Name. See Meetings. The What Changed tab is covered in Memory and Ask.

People

People is laid out like Contacts. It is built from your meetings, the voice bank, calendar attendees, and, if you switch it on in Settings, the Contacts on this Mac.

A person's card holds company, title, email, phone, projects, and a note. It also shows whether Merriweather has heard their voice, how long they spoke, and the meetings they were in or were mentioned in. Choose Edit to change an address or number. What you type is kept.

Documents

Documents holds pages and files for the engagement. Use the add button, or drop onto the window:

  • an address, which Merriweather fetches;
  • a file from this Mac: PDF, Word, Markdown, HTML, or text.

If a page needs a login, a sign-in window opens. Sign in, then retry.

Each document is kept as Markdown, with the original beside it. You can Read or Edit its content. Fetch again reads a page again. A page more than a day old is refreshed when you open the window.

A summary or description from the on-device model never replaces one you wrote. Notes that assistants leave in the Work Journal appear here too. See Assistants.

Projects

Projects are the workstreams of an engagement. A project has a name, a description, a start, an optional end, and an optional repository on this Mac that you sync by hand.

Meetings, documents, people, logged time, follow-through items, and terms can be tagged to a project. Anything tagged to none is under Unassigned Work.

With Automatically tag related work on, a meeting is tagged if it repeats one of the project's meetings, or if most of its people and one of the project's known terms belong to the project. Earlier work is tagged by hand.

Known Terms

Settings has a section called Known Words, Terms, & Names. Known Terms in the menu opens the list. These are products, acronyms, and names as your engagement spells them. Merriweather listens for them when it writes a transcript.

A term is a Name or a Term, known across the engagement or in some projects. It has a description, which you can write or ask the on-device model to write, and a history: when it was added, each meeting it was said in, and what changed.

Some terms are gathered for you, from invitations and the voice bank. Those can be archived but not deleted. Terms you typed can be deleted, which also deletes their history. Archiving keeps it.

How they link

Names, meetings, and project tags are links in most places. A name opens the person's card. A meeting opens in Knowledge. A "said at" time opens the transcript at that line.
